Athea Turns 2 - goodies picked up

In my last post (you can read it HERE) I talked about the freebies that come with the Althea Birthday Box because if you shop in the month of July, Althea is celebrating its second birthday with all of us!

So don't miss out on this opportunity to get even more freebies, giveaways and competitions! You can find all the information on the box in my previous post HERE.

Here is a peek at all the extra freebies that come with the birthday box! I do run through them a bit more in my previous post which you can read HERE.

For the things I actually picked up, I have quite an array this time and I am pleased to report that a lot of these are goodies!

Like most people, I have been really getting into sheet masks and they are just so convenient . Here I have the Pure Nature Mask in Tea Tree and the Pure Nature Mask in Aloe Vera. Aloe Vera is pretty much a fail safe mask choice because it is suitable for sensitive skin and it is moisturising without being overly nourishing. Tea Tree is a good choice if you have oilier or combination skin. I dislike the scent but I know it is a really wonderful ingredient so I wanted to try it out!

I also picked up the Moksha Dear Apple Mask Sheet and the Moksha Dear Tea Tree Mask Sheet. The choice of Tea Tree has been mentioned above, plus it would be a good comparison between the two brands. Apple just seems like quite a nice, juicy ingredient and it is meant to be moisturising!

A somewhat random purchase is the Calmia Natural Pure Cotton. I have been using cheap cotton for my toners and essences because these are daily disposables but I figured that I would try out something that is better because the cheaper alternatives usually fray and get stuck to my face! Let's see if paying more is better!

This is actually something I picked up for a friend. I personally have the Aritaum Pore Master Sebum Control Powder as well.

This packaging looks different from mine. Mine is a loose powder with a screw top.

This is more of a pressed powder and the packaging has a little mirror. I am actually unsure if this is the same product but a new packaging, or a different item altogether.

The last 4 items I picked up are makeup related and all for me.

First up is the Viva! Cleanser Sponge. I have seen a few of these in the market and they have been raved about and touted to be really handy and useful. I was very curious to try it and see if I can really use one eyeshadow brush instead of a few since this will clean off the powder pigment!

There are actually instructions on the black and white parts but I remember the black part is where you would swirl your eyeshadow brush and it will be as good as new again! Or rather, as clean as you first washed it. I am excited to give this a go and report back to you!

The only eyeshadow product I picked up was the RiRe Luxe Liquid Shadow.

I picked the RiRe Luxe Liquid Shadow in the shade Honey Ginger. There are a few beautiful shades but I picked this one up to try for formulation and I have to admit I really like it! So now I am tempted to pick up more shades.

The actual bottle and packaging is relatively small and very sleek. You can see the colour in the bottle and the amount left very easily.

There is a stopper like most liquid products, to prevent too much product from being picked up on the doe foot applicator.

The applicator is paddle shaped, which is quite standard for liquid eyeshadow formulations as you tend to apply it to the eyelids and blend it out.

This is the shade Honey Ginger swatched. On the eyelids it is not too light as to draw too much attention. The shade is gentle and very flattering on the eyelids.

I also picked up 2 lip products. The first is the The Saem Eco Soul Lip Oil in Berry.

This comes in 3 variations but I picked Berry to be safe.

The Saem Eco Soul Lip Oil in Berry looks very  pink and pretty in the bottle. It has a translucent feel to it which is expected as other lip oils such as the YSL Tint-in-Oil and the Clarins Lip Oil are similar.

The doe foot applicator is a giant one, reminiscent of the Clarins offering. However, this giant doe foot applicator is quite stiff, unlike the Clarins Lip Oil which has a squishy doe foot applicator.

The actual product lacks any pigmentation whatsoever. It feels heavier than a typical oil, but better than a lip gloss on the lips. It is not super light as you do feel as though there is product on the lips but it feels nourishing on the lips. There is no colour payoff at all but it smells like very fresh and juicy strawberries!

Now for the final product of the bunch, it is another RiRe product.

This RiRe Luxe Cushion Lip Paint caught my eye partly because of the name Luxe Cushion. It just feels as if it will be very comfortable to wear even though Luxe Cushion could just mean the applicator!

The product comes in quite a long tube but it is easily stashed or kept in the handbag.

When you first open it, there is a direct applicator which reminds me of the Clarins Instant Light Lip Perfectors.

After some squeezing, product comes out in the centre, ready for application!

The shade is a neutral red with a hint of warmth and it is so brightening on the face! The formula is instantly velvety matte and feels comfortable on the lips. I wore this to try out and it removed easily with a wet wipe afterwards. I will note that it does not dry down to a flat matte and it does remain moveable in that if you do a kissing test or drink from a white cup, there will be lipstick marks.

I personally enjoy the RiRe Luxe Cushion Lip Paint regardless and would recommend it!

So that is everything from this haul and I actually really like most of the things I have picked up and tried! Althea ships direct from Korea which is why the products tend to be cheaper than Hermo but take longer to arrive!
